Recycling
There are five recycling drop-off locations and a transfer station available to residents of Adams County. These locations provide an opportunity for residents to dispose of waste properly and preserve the natural beauty of Adams County. Recycling reduces the amount of generated waste and ultimately the cost of waste disposal for residents.

To the right are links to maps of each recycling drop-off locations. Each location has a compactor dumpster which has two sections, one for paper, and the other for all other co-mingled recyclables such as aluminum cans, glass bottles, and #1 and #2 plastics.
The Adams Waste and Recycling Center (AWAR) is a transfer station where residents can drop off garbage and tires for a nominal fee. AWAR is also a buy-back recycling center and accepts non-ferrous metals and some auto parts. AWAR is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Call (937) 544-2650 for more information. Click here for a map of AWAR.
Appliance Recycling
Customers of American Electric Power may be eligable for an incentive check of $25 for their old, working refridgerator or freezer! If a customer of AEP has a secondary refridgerator or freezer that is between 10 to 30 cubic feet in size and is in working condition, AEP may pick up the old appliance and mail a check for $25 to the resident.
