Emerald Ash Borer Information

Emerald Ash Borer larva
Emerald Ash Borer adult

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an exotic, invasive wood-boring insect that infests and kills native North American ash trees (Fraxinus spp.), both in forests and landscape plantings.

As of Oct. 13th, 2008, Clermont County has an EAB infestation and is under a quarantine.   The quarantine is imposed to prevent the spread of EAB and prohibits the transport of all non-coniferous firewood including from maple, hickory, and ash trees, to other counties that are not under quarantine.  Click here for a map of quarantined counties.
