Adams County Carter Hollow Landfill

Dayton Power and Light is proposing to site a new landfill in Sprigg Township in Adams County for the disposal of flue gas derived waste.  The waste is created from the flu gas desulferization scrubbers put in the plants to prevent sulfer dioxide from entering the atmosphere.  Some of the created waste, gypsum, can often be sold to the building industry for use in dry wall construction.  The proposed landfill would provide an onsite disposal area for any gypsum that cannot be recycled.

This site will also be periodically updated with public meeting dates
